Ignite Lansing!

Ignite Lansing had its first event Friday, April 17 at the East Lansing Technology Innovation Center (TIC). Digital Active is a proud tenant of the TIC. The event was sold out with over 200 attendees and featured a series of diverse presentations in a quick & punchy format. The "Ignite" concept was created in Seattle in 2006 and has spread to cities around the world. What a wonderful mix of Greater Lansing! Techies, creatives and everything in between were the attendees as new and familiar faces from Old Town, Lansing, East Lansing and MSU filled the room. Each presenter was limited to 5 minutes and a 20 slide format. The presentations were insightful, entertaining and humorous and the fast-format kept the crowd's attention. With presentations ranging from "How to Schmooze Like a Professional and Look Good Doing It!" to "Visual Communications" to "Urban Agriculture" the topics were diverse and compelling. Contests and awards rounded out the night. The immediate feed back was great as the people were asking "When is the next Ignite"? and "How can I be a presenter"? Kudos to the fantastic job in planning and hosting the event to Jeff Smith, Amy Schlusler and the entire TIC staff!
